The season of giving is underway and here at WK Mechanical we are all for it!
WK Mechanical’s Second Annual Food Drive
In the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving you, our valuable customers helped us collect canned goods during our Second Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We know that the last couple of years have been very rough on some of our neighbors and we wanted to do what we can to give back to those who may be struggling to put food on the table. THANK YOU to everyone who sent in donations!
Happy Thanksgiving Pies
We really enjoyed expressing our gratitude for our wonderful staff by giving them some delicious pies on the day before Thanksgiving! Joanne Conforti shared the following message on social media: “Anyway you slice it – we are grateful for team members like you ALL. Happy Thanksgiving!!”
The WK Giving Tree
We are excited to participate in the Children’s Home Liberty Office’s Adopt A Family program this year. In November we began gathering gifts around our giving tree for our Adopted son. We are delighted to be able to bring some Christmas cheer to a young man in need! (image of the tree)
It’s Better To Give Than To Receive The holiday season tends to bring out the best in all of us. The season of giving turns us all into elves looking to bless others. Do you ever wonder why? It turns out, there is science behind it!
Why It Feels So Good To GIVE…
- Giving is good for your brain! When we give, our brains release chemicals that give us a sense of joy and peace.
- Generosity is contagious. We just discussed how giving makes us happy right? Well, happy people inspire those around them to be happy too!
- Givers live longer. A study from Carnegie Mellon University found that people who volunteer four hours per week are 40% less likely to develop blood pressure. So giving is good for you!
- Generous people are less depressed. It’s hard to worry about your problems when you are focused on others!
We have really enjoyed giving back to our community and doing little things to make our employees feel loved! We encourage you to allow the spirit of the season to motivate you to give back to our community. Remember, it’s good for you!
