This is an excellent time to consider an HVAC replacement. Modern HVAC systems are more efficient and affordable to run than ever, and there are energy incentives available. Those rebates and tax credits can significantly reduce your initial investment.

For gas-fired furnaces and boilers, an annual fuel utilization (AFUE) of 95% or higher is required. For oil-fired systems, it requires 85% or higher. For ACs and heat pumps, you’ll need to look at the seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER). ENERGY STAR requires a 14 or higher.
